LAST WEEK'S ROUND UP: Following the trend of the last couple of 
weeks a light to moderate trade developed in the South on 
Wednesday with most sales marked at $126, about $2 higher than 
the prior weeks weighted averages. The North held out until 
Thursday when a light to moderate trade was reported with 
dressed deals at mostly $208, generally $3 higher than the 
prior week, while live trade ranged from $129 to $133.50, 
mostly $130, roughly $3 higher than the prior week's weighted 
average basis Nebraska. 

According to the Friday afternoon Mandatory reports weekly 
trade volumes were as follows: KS 21,824; NE 41,272; TX 12,732; 
CO Not available due to confidentiality; IA 35,898. Keep in 
mind that Northern trade volume totals are somewhat light due 
to delayed trading.

DTN MORNING COMMENTS:  The country is typically quiet this 
Monday morning with bids and asking prices not established as 
of yet. Significant trade volume will likely be delayed until 
the second half of the week. Beef cutouts are expected to be 
higher with generally light box movement. 

For the week ending April 13, 2019, Imported Beef Passed for 
Entry in the U.S. totaled 39,486, 102.61% of the previous week 
and 98.27% of the prior 4-week average.
